Director of Franchise Development

Livermore, CA

Job Description:

The Director of Franchise Development will provide leadership and direction to the Franchise Development team specific to company goals and initiatives. This position will be involved in conducting and reviewing annual targets to promote optimal profitability to build out our national franchise base. This position will provide guidance and coaching to new and existing franchise owners and support their development. The Director of Franchise Development makes effective use of leads generated from various franchising marketing channels and develops referrals from existing franchisees. This position is responsible for a strong physical presence in the franchise community.

Essential Functions:

  • Grows the brand through the signing of new Franchisees; expectations of 12+ new franchise agreements signed per year.
  • Evaluates needs and recommends opportunities for business development and expansion.
  • Nurtures relationships with existing franchisees and support their development.
  • Monitor the Franchise Sales Marketing strategies and track data on prospects to determine best channels to focus marketing funds.
  • Direct the development of national business plans consistent with the established mission and strategic plan of Solar Universe and ensure their proper execution.
  • Provide operational assistance as needed to ensure smooth operation of new franchises as they come on board.
  • Attend franchise trade shows to learn of current franchising trends and to develop new business prospects. Stay current with industry trends in the area of franchise sales.
  • Maintains working knowledge of franchising law as it related to day-to-day franchising sales and development.
  • Responsible to become thoroughly familiar with and adhere to federal, state and local laws pertaining to franchise sales and disclosure information.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field, MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing a team and actively developing talent with an ability to motivate as well as manage conflict.
  • More than 5 years of franchise sales experience.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in strategic and consultative selling, with a proven track record of successfully closing franchise deals.
  • Current knowledge of franchise licensing laws, regulations, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally provide guidance and coaching to franchise owners.
  • Entrepreneurial personality with proven exceptional communication, presentation/ public speaking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan and conduct effective meetings.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet desired objectives with minimal to no supervision and ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and exceptional follow-up skills.
  • Must be able to travel, by air and car, for business purposes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.

Supply Chain Logistics Manager

Livermore, CA

Job Description:

The Supply Chain Logistics Manager will report directly to the Director of Supply Chain and play a key role in providing supply chain, operation and logistical support to our franchise partner network. You will be responsible for assisting in key Supply Chain functions such as materials planning, scheduling and ordering activities associated with the delivery, direct and indirect material purchasing, warehousing; procurement, receipt, disbursement, and inventory control. The Supply Chain Logistics Manager will work closely with our franchise partners to ensure they have a solid understanding of our process and procedures and will be instrumental in driving and meeting established metrics; concurrently build and strengthen our partner relationships.

Essential Functions:

  • Supply Chain, Materials Planning, Scheduling and Logistical support.
  • Implements methods, practices and techniques to ensure the most economical movement of materials through the supply chain to achieve cost-effective logistics practices and inventory levels while meeting customer delivery requirements.
  • Identify areas in warehouse and supply chain processes needing improvement and develop plans to make those changes.
  • Coordinate project fulfillment with network partners and internal operations team members to meet established metrics.
  • Ensure network partners follow ordering and logistics processes.
  • Actively review franchise pipeline to ensure projects are being approved, scheduled and shipped in timely manner.
  • Assist team with continuous operational improvement and best practices.
  • Provide best in class service to network partners while meeting company goals and objectives.
  • Create and maintain progress reports as required; including but not limited to shipping and internal/external metrics.
  • Update inventory/warehouse/shipping systems and communicate to staff regarding issues.
  • Work with transportation partner(s) to schedule outbound shipments.
  • Work with the field operations team to arrange transportation and storage of material in emerging franchise markets.
  • Support compliance initiatives and corporate commodity, logistics, and inventory strategies to achieve synergy across the operation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering or business from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Materials or Supply Chain role.
  • 3-5 years of scheduling, planning and logistics experience.
  • Experience with NetSuite required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with MRP and ERP systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving.
  • Exceptional communication skills; including written and interpersonal.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience developing new processes and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of lean and process improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Customer centric approach to provide value to franchise partners while meeting business goals.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Director of Franchise Training and Operational Support

Job Description:

The Director of Franchise Training and Operational Support is responsible for knowledge management and transfer across Solar Universe’s franchise network, including the design and execution of training programs; the maintenance of corporate training content; and small business management help for franchise owners.

The ideal candidate is tech savvy, passionate about the solar industry, a fast learner, and wants to be involved in efforts to make our franchisees successful.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and coordinate training activities with subject matter experts
  • Provide feedback against learning objectives; Assess/test to measure knowledge transfer
  • Utilize a variety of the training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs
  • Work with key executives and internal partners to analyze franchisee performance so that additional training can be prescribed and developed
  • Own and manage the company’s knowledge library
  • Assist franchise owners with ongoing training needs
  • Provide franchise owners with small business general management support
  • Ownership and execution of the onboarding program for new franchisees

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field, MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and deliver training programs utilizing skills in instructional design, program design development, and training technologies
  • Strong project management experience
